Vase of Dandelions

dandelions

A vase of dandelions.

Who has a vase of dandelions?

They speckle the yards.

Reminding grown ups its time to cut the grass.

The gardener pulls them out, hoping to separate it’s roots from the earth,

Never to sprout again.

Who has a vase of dandelions?

Mother does.

The fluffy golden yellow buds brighten the crumb covered finger smudged dining room table.

Tiny hands and a beaming smile full of wonder plucked them from their field of green.

Delight.

Each one carefully chosen amongst the many.

Selected to be part of the bouquet to delight the Queen of life, Mama.

Feet march proudly and directly to her.

Outreached arms display a bundle of innocence, optimism and lemon yellow bursts of pure young bliss.

“I picked these for you Mom.”

And of course, a vase of dandelions will be displayed in the center of this home.
